Why is it necessary for organisations to have a grievance procedure?

Organisation must have a grievance procedure so that all employees are informed about the company policy on handling grievance and complaint as well as the /procedure to deal with grievance.   A grievance policy will show the organisation’s philosophy and their will to deal with each issue in all fairness.  This will help to create a work environment where relationship between management and employees are good:  employees will feel at ease and trustworthy towards management.  This could ensure that no union will be called in to settle industrial dispute.    The grievance procedure will settle dispute rapidly and at start.

Steps of a Grievance Procedure
Step 1
Discuss the complaint/offence with your Supervisor

If your problem is not solved
Step 2
Meet the Team Leader/ Manager and explain your problem

If  no  solution  is  found
Step 3
Call at the HR Dept to talk with the person concerned

The HR Department will meet all parties concerned in order to have all relevant facts before giving any recommendation and conclusion.
